Privacy Policy

Passport Tracker · Effective 20 July 2026

The short version: Passport Tracker has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads. Your trips, passports, and location are processed on your device. We — the developer — never receive, see, or store any of your data.

What the app stores, and where

Passport Tracker keeps your trip history, the passports you select, and app settings on your device only, in the app's private storage. The visa-rules database ships inside the app itself, so looking up rules requires no internet connection and sends nothing anywhere.

Location

Automatic trip tracking is optional and off by default. If you turn it on:

You can turn tracking off at any time in Settings, and iOS lets you revoke location permission entirely.

iCloud backup (optional)

If you enable iCloud backup, a copy of your trips and passports is stored in your own iCloud account using Apple's key-value storage. It syncs between your devices through Apple's infrastructure; we have no access to it. Turning the toggle off stops updating the backup, and "Clear All Data" overwrites it with an empty state.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us no personally identifying purchase information.

Notifications

Overstay reminders, registration deadlines, and arrival notifications are local notifications, scheduled and delivered on your device. No push-notification server is involved.

What we never do

Data retention and deletion

Your data exists only where you can see it. Delete individual trips in the app, use Settings → Clear All Data to erase everything (including overwriting the iCloud backup if enabled), or simply delete the app — its local storage goes with it.

Children

Passport Tracker is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA grant rights to access, correct, export, and delete personal data. Because all of your data lives on your device under your direct control — and we hold none of it — you can exercise every one of these rights yourself, instantly, inside the app. If you have any question about this, contact us and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated before the change ships, with a new effective date. Given the app's architecture — no servers, no collection — we don't expect them to.
